What’s the idea?
There is a need for a loop function that can be tied to the edit function as an option when needed for editing long patterns. This would greatly speed up workflow as one doesn't have to wait for the whole pattern to cycle through.
Describe the feature or improvement you’re suggesting. What problem does it solve, or what would it enable?
When editing extended patterns (especially those approaching the 512-step maximum), users currently must wait for the entire pattern to cycle through to hear and refine specific sections. This creates significant workflow friction, particularly when making detailed adjustments to parameter locks, microtime settings, or trigger conditions in specific parts of long sequences.
- Focused editing: Select any portion of a long pattern and loop just that section while making real-time adjustments
- Rapid iteration: Test changes immediately without waiting for full pattern cycles
- Precise section work: Perfect specific musical phrases, drum fills, or modulation sequences in isolation
- Live performance preparation: Quickly dial in transitions and critical moments within longer compositions
- Creative flow preservation: Maintain momentum during the composition process by eliminating unnecessary wait times
