Effects parameters targets for internal LFO/Env/automation

What’s the idea?

It would be really useful to be able to send internal modulation like automation, LFO or envelope to the midi effects parameters.

Where would it go?

It could be accessible via the target menu of the LFO and Env page and via the automation destination menu.

Any details or mockups?

I imagine FX 3 for exemple could be a destination in the drop down list and if you select it, you have access to a second scroll list with all the parameters of this effect. This way you avoid scrolling across all the parameters availables if you have the 4 FX slots populated.

Thanks @Cha, @THTR — there are some technical challenges around routing internal modulation to FX parameters, but the idea is really interesting and we’re certainly taking a look at it. Really appreciate the clear breakdown and suggestions!

Regarding the problems with internal modulation to fx - would it be possible to do it as the hapax does, where the effects 'lanes' include a mod/attenuation matrix, and there are also lfo/envelope effects that can be placed within the effect 'lanes' with access to their adjacent effects?

I suppose then the question would be, how much is the 3 effect slot limit a matter of available processing/memory resources - or was it just set conservatively? The hapax had 8 slots per track, plus the mod matrix, and it was easy to use a fair chunk of it if you had say lfo, harmonizer, arp, scale quantising, velocity modulation, tranposition.
