Reliq showing DAW disconnected

Pressing the DAW button shows disconnected image

Previous to update, Reliq was functioning normally. Now, using the DAW feature only shows disconnected. I can use the Reliq as a sequencer to send MIDI, and also sends Start/Stop messages to Ableton, but I cannot access the DAW functionality.

How to reproduce

Describe the steps to make it happen reliably.

Update

After messing around with Ableton's MIDI settings, I got DAW feature functioning correctly. These are the settings I am using now!
I must say, this was pretty confusing getting setup to this point. I had to trial and error every single possible configuration to reach this point.

Thanks a lot for reporting this, and also for following up with the settings that worked.

From the screenshots, it looks like the MIDI naming of Reliq changed on the Windows side after the update. This can happen depending on the Windows version and the MIDI/USB drivers used on the machine, especially if Reliq’s USB MIDI port is connected to the computer during the update.

Great catch figuring this out. Although the issue seems related to Windows USB/MIDI enumeration, we’ll investigate if there’s anything we can improve on our side to make this less confusing in the future.

Oof. Started up my project today and back to DAW disconnect screen again, even with all the same settings. I will try doing some resets and messing around to see if I can get DAW connection again. Pray for me. 😉

Ah, sorry to hear that. That does sound like Windows may be re-enumerating the MIDI device name again, or Ableton may be picking a different Reliq MIDI entry after restart.

There are a few things worth trying:

First, disconnect Reliq from USB MIDI, then restart Ableton and reconnect Reliq. After that, select the currently visible Reliq MIDI ports again.

If Windows has created multiple Reliq / MIDI Function entries over time, it can also help to remove old hidden MIDI devices from Device Manager. In Windows Device Manager, enable “Show hidden devices”, then look under Sound, video and game controllers / Software devices / Universal Serial Bus devices and remove old or greyed-out Reliq/MIDI entries if they appear.

We’ll keep looking into whether there’s anything we can improve from our side, but for now this does look like a Windows MIDI/USB enumeration issue rather than the DAW integration itself.

That worked for now! In Device Manager, when I plugged in the Reliq and turned it on, Reliq showed up as a devices, and also a device named 'Do Not Use 101'. I deleted that device. In Ableton, I was ableton to select MIDIOUT2 for the output of the Reliq device, and DAW function worked instantly.
