From your description, it sounds like the issue might be related to which port is connected to the computer. The updater app connects through the USB HOST port on Reliq (the one labeled HOST), while U-SYNC and DAW integration use the USB MIDI port instead. So for U-SYNC and DAW functionality, try connecting the USB MIDI port directly to your Mac.
Thanks as well for flagging the update issue, a couple of weeks ago we identified a compatibility issue between the updater and macOS 26, and a patched version of the updater was released shortly after.
