What’s the idea?
I've named my channels nicely, I can't use colors just as visual cues (as they are only used for groups which would prevent me from doing specific connections).
So I end up counting left to right my channels regularly and then top to bottom to find which one is which.
I think there is a way to improve this.
Where would it go?
The buttons in the matrix page should use colors/brightness to signal channels better.
Any details or mockups?
If we could use colors independently from groups we could have each row and column dimly show their channels color. E.g.
- in1/2 are red [also visualized onthe screen] > both columns glow at 10% red
- out 11/12 are green > both rows glow at 10% green
- at their intersections the colors are added making those four buttons glow yellow at 10%
- if the connection is made it goes to 100% yellow
That way the brain could easily resolved what needs to be connected where without counting rows and columns.
Thanks!
