What’s the idea?
Performance Edit Mode
While performing, sometimes a player wants to change the Direction, Speed, Steps, or other parameters of a track's sequence before the edits take place to change aspects of the performance.
Performance Edit Mode would provide the ability to edit parameters of a step or multiple steps without the edits taking effect in real-time. Instead they would take effect after leaving Performance Edit Mode at start of that track's first step. For example, a performer could change Speed to 2x and the change would happen on the next one after the edit.
Where would it go?
Momentary and Latching Performance Edit Modes
Two Options on Sequence tab:
1) Momentary Performance Edit Mode: SHIFT + Direction or Speed or Steps, etc.
Click SHIFT and hold, dial in parameter, release SHIFT and the edit will take effect on the next Step 1 of that track. Track light blinks as soon as one parameter is edited to show Latch mode is on and changes will apply on the next Step 1 after releasing SHIFT.
2) Latching Performance Edit Mode: maybe using SHIFT + track button (or maybe Edit mode)?
In Latch mode, you can edit multiple parameters without having to hold SHIFT. Click SHIFT + Track button. Track light blinks to show Latch mode is on. After making edits to parameters, click SHIFT + Track again to exit Latch mode. The edits will take effect on the next Step 1 of that track.
