What’s the idea?

Sequence midi port and channel so that a single track can send signal to different channels depending on events
It would be really cool to extend possibilities without increading track quantity. For ex an elektron box could use a single track for various sounds,

Where would it go?

Sequencer pages, both global and per event ( pitch press)

Any details or mockups?

midi channel and port should be presented the same as other parameters ( pitch, probability etc)
This feature is also included in the " midi matrix idea" from discord, but is way simpler

I think this is a great idea, I am all for more 'meta' modulations. The more open and accessible parameters are, the better.

In the meantime: you can already assign different MIDI OUTs, channels, and inputs per clip, so it’s possible to chain different clip follow-ups within the same track to target different MIDI ports or channels 🙂

Kyriakos-Reliq I'd actually forgotten this. I still need to get across the wider device. You're right that it is somewhat the same thing. I do think clips changes are more limiting though, in terms of other changes being able to be modulated rather than entered as specific choices. Like "slowly cycle from midi ch 1 to midi ch 16 using a ramp envelope" "now use a random stepping value" "now invert the range from ch 16 to ch 1", etc.

I'm biased I guess, being mostly interested in the sequencer as a performance tool or arranging instrument that can be improvised. I always thought it would be great to have all the sequencer function keys and menu items or settings available as mod destinations or by CC input. Especially since encoders+page switching have become such a common UI method. In which you often want to change 2 parameters from different pages at the same time.
